More walking

Our second walk took us the other way round from our accommodation to a place called Reindmuhl. The usual monotonous procession of beautiful green countryside, mountains, wildlife and natural water features dominated the landscape. We had hoped to grab a bite to eat in the village before heading back round the hills to our accommodation but alas everything was closed!

Another day, another walk … this time to the historic town of Traunkirchen – which is located to the south of our current apartment. A stunning view of the Salzkammergut Mountain range from the other side of Lake Traunsee awaited after a three-hour hike through Sound of Music country. We stopped in the ‘town’ for a schnitzel and some goulash before heading back to the bahnhof and catching the regional train back to Altmunster – slightly red-faced from the sun and ready for a cup of tea. 🙂
