In between a few walks in the mountains we’ve had to do a bit of non-tourist related stuff. First up was try to get to know which area we would like to live in and to look for an apartment. Lots of people we spoke to recommended Gmunden even though it’s slightly more expensive but this makes sense for us since we don’t have a car and will be relying on public transport (which by the way is as punctual and efficient as you would expect!)
So we visited a few apartments, tested out my German and we think we have found a central place that would work for us although we won’t be able to move in until the 1st November.
We also visited our new work place and met some of the staff there, all of whom seem very friendly and helpful, as well as stopping off for a few coffees and cakes along the way.
Apart from the first few days the weather has been nice and sunny so we’ve been able to wander a little bit around the lake and check out the local area: so far, so good! 🙂
